This is a Lake exploration event. It can occur multiple times per play through and offers the chance to get 
Wood 
Cheese 
Beer, as well as the stat special boosting items 
Tyr's Gauntlets and 
. However, if you choose to follow the request written in small runes on the underside of the chest and Bury It Somewhere, it adds an option to the Skull Tree exploration event (please see that page for details).
Inspect[ | ]
An old chest floating on the surface. It's locked, but you think you can easily smash it open.
Examine Closely[ | ]
You pull the coffer ashore to examine it. Small runes are carved on the bottom of the chest. It says: “BURY ME”.
Bring Back to Camp[ | ]
Note: This is a 'red' option, meaning the 'entity' will disappear once this action is taken!

You bring back your heavy treasure to camp. With all the tools here, opening it should be easier.
- Smash the Chest Open.
- You grab an axe and smash the coffer open, revealing its contents, mostly broken now. You think you heard some kind of whispers coming from inside as the axe met the wood. Strange. Makes you shiver.

Who cares about a coffer? Only the contents matter. You take a rock and smash it to the chest until it cracks open. You search among the wood shards for anything valuable.

You FEEL that you should bury it somewhere near. And you KNOW exactly the spot, as if the chest was guiding your hand. You dig the dirt with your bare hands for hours and finally hide the chest. If you haven’t gone completely crazy, you KNOW that you will be rewarded some day. You hope.
