Cissé & The Family[ | ]

Night After Recruitment

This event occurs the night after Cissé has been recruited to the camp.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Thank you for welcoming me to your lovely village, my friends! Would you like to hear a song? I believe I have the perfect one for this occasion.

  • Let Him Play.

His music sounds odd at first, unlike anything you've heard before. It evokes peace, distant lands and wondrous landscapes, burnt by the sun but blessed by the gods. It carries you far away, and when it ends, an awkward silence follows.

Kari Dialogue Tag
AHAHAHA! Thanks for bringing us a fool, dad! He's so dumb, it's funny.

Blod-Dialogue-Tag
Kari! Show a bit of respect to our guest.

Kari Dialogue Tag
Right, mom! I'm sure Björn will dance and sing with us next time we meet...

Cisse Dialogue Tag
...

Moira-Dialogue-Tag
Don't listen to the child, Cissé. She knows nothing about art.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
Like they say, it takes a whole village to raise a child! Ah ah ah.

Eirik-Dialogue-Tag
Were you a skald in your land?

Cisse Dialogue Tag
In my dear sunny land, we are called Griots. Yes I was. Tale Teller, musician, poet, and keeper of the families' secrets... But that's a story for another time... Now let's share our delicious meals!

  • Remind him of reality.

Blod Dialogue Tag
Not really, friend. Even if we could enjoy a song, there are more pressing matters.

Eirik Dialogue Tag
There's a gang of raving lunatics who will kill us if we don't pay them a weekly tribute...

Moira Dialogue Tag
We have barely enough food and water to survive...

Kari Dialogue Tag
And we have no idea if we can trust you, or if you'll even be useful.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
Hmm... I see... Like they say, trust doesn't exist. Or the fish wouldn't be cooked in the water he was born into. Ah ah! I will do my share of the work, and everything I can to make everyone feel better. Fear not, friends. However long the night, the dawn will break at the end! That's the story I want to tell.

Hunger Strike, Part I

This event does not appear to have a trigger and occurs randomly

Eirik-Dialogue-Tag

Hmm, you didn't eat today, no? Want something?

Cisse Dialogue Tag That's very delicate of you to have noticed, Eirik! I'm humbled by your consideration. But don't worry about me... I'm only starting a hunger strike to protest against Björn's rule.

Eirik-Dialogue-Tag

Ah, okay... Wait, you WHAT?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Aha, don't worry Eirik, I will be fine. Every human being has a heart. That's my belief! I'm sure I can make a change with my diplomatic action.

Eirik-Dialogue-Tag

...

  • Don't put yourself in danger.

Eirik-Dialogue-Tag

If you think that's a good idea, Cissé. Just promise me one thing...You'll stop when it gets dangerous for your health.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Aha! A wise person will always find a way! My sincere thanks for looking after me, Eirik.

  • He's crazy

Eirik-Dialogue-Tag

I don't think it's really a GOOD idea, Cissé.

Eirik-Dialogue-Tag

It won't achieve anything, except a quick death for you.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

You don't believe in me? That's sad.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

As we say, you must act as if it is impossible to fail. Let me help you however I can, Eirik.

Hunger Strike, Part II

This only occurs after the previous event "Hunger Strike I"

Blod-Dialogue-Tag

Cissé, I'm worried... Won't you stop your hunger strike now?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

I can't Blodeuwedd, until my message of peace and love has touched the heart of our enemies.

Blod-Dialogue-Tag

...

  • I'm worried for his health.

Blod-Dialogue-Tag

But... Your body is already showing signs of weakness. Is it really worth it?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

As they say, peace is costly but it is worth the expense! That's my way of fighting. Thank you for looking after me, Blodeuwedd. I'm feeding on your kindness.

  • I'm worried he will be too weak to work.

Blod-Dialogue-Tag

If you're too weak to help during the day, you'll be a burden to us.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

... Good words are food, bad words poison. That's all I have to say.

Hunger Strike, Part III

This only occurs after the previous event "Hunger Strike, Part II"

Kari Dialogue Tag

(That dumbass is still doing his hunger strike... What a fool.)

  • Mock him.

Kari Dialogue Tag

Hey, Cissé! Look here!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Hmm?

Kari throws some food at his face.

- Crap Meal Crap Meal

Kari Dialogue Tag

Open your mouth!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Kari! Stop!

Kari Dialogue Tag

Hehehehehehehe. If you don't come to food, food will come to you!

  • Mock him, but not too hard.

Kari Dialogue Tag

You know, if you are sick of this life, there are quicker ways... Poison, jump off a cliff, cut your own throat, hang yourself... Plenty of possibilities. I could even help you.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Aha... I know that in your own way, you're showing me compassion, Kari. Like we say, pretend you are dead and you will see who really loves you.

Hunger Strike, Part IV

This only occurs after the previous event "Hunger Strike, Part III"

Moira Dialogue Tag

Cissé... As your healer, I'll ask you one last time... Eat. Now.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

My dear Moira... You know... That I can't...

Moira Dialogue Tag

...

  • Everyone cares for you

Moira Dialogue Tag

Look Cissé, everyone is worried for you. We love you, you know.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

...

Moira Dialogue Tag

We supported you in your ideas, you tried, you went all the way... But now, it's time to stop.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
...

Moira Dialogue Tag
We'll bring peace to this island. I promise. But we'll do it our own way. Okay?

Cisse Dialogue Tag
...

Moira Dialogue Tag
If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. You remember?

Cisse Dialogue Tag
... Yes. My heart is sad to have failed... But is filled with love. Thank you Moira.

  • Convince him (Charisma)
Failure
???
Success
Moira Dialogue Tag
Cissé, please. Come to your senses. We supported you in your ideas, you tried, you went all the way... But now, it's time to stop.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
...

Moira Dialogue Tag
We'll bring peace to this island. I promise. But we'll do it our own way. Okay?

Cisse Dialogue Tag
...

Moira Dialogue Tag
If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. You remember?

Cisse Dialogue Tag
... Yes. My heart is sad to have failed... But is filled with love. Thank you Moira.

  • Do it for me.

???

  • Too bad for him.

The Tortoise and the Medicine

This event does not appear to have a trigger and occurs randomly

Cisse Dialogue Tag

So, I have this little tale that keeps dancing on my tongue lately... This is the story of the tortoise and the medicine soup.

Moira-Dialogue-Tag

What is a tortoise?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

It's an animal with a bald head and an armour on its back.

Kari Dialogue Tag

A bit like Björn, then...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

A bit like him, yes... So the tortoise and his wife had been married for a long time, but sadly, they were unable to have a child. The tortoise went to see the medicine man, who gave him a potion in a pot for his wife to get pregnant. Inside the pot were very large, juicy chunks of meat, with a powerful beef aroma. The tortoise thought that his wife had a small appetite, and surely wouldn't eat it all. So he ate one delicious chunk, then another, then one more... Soon, there was only one piece left! He was ashamed of what he did, but he hoped one chunk would be enough to get his wife pregnant. When he arrived home, his stomach started to hurt so badly he had to get back to the medicine man. But the medicine man couldn't help him, and after several days of pure agony, the tortoise died.

Moira-Dialogue-Tag

...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

The end.

  • What a horrible story!

Blod-Dialogue-Tag
This is utterly depressing... And unfair! I mean, yes, he ate most of the potion, but it seems to me that the medicine man tricked him!

Kari Dialogue Tag
I liked it! The tortoise was an idiot and deserved to die. The wife's better without him!

Moira-Dialogue-Tag
If you ask me, it's obvious the wife and the medicine man were having an affair and planned his murder.

Eirik-Dialogue-Tag
Well, at least, his death avoided a more terrible fate to his family in the future...

Cisse Dialogue Tag
Hum, maybe I should have chosen another story...

  • Is there any moral behind this?

Moira-Dialogue-Tag
It's a deliciously horrible little tale, but I'm not sure what it's supposed to teach us...

Cisse Dialogue Tag
Well... It reminds me of another old saying in our land that... Wisdom is like a baobab tree. One individual alone can't embrace it.

Kari Dialogue Tag
What the Hel is a baobab tree?

Cisse Dialogue Tag
It's a majestic, very large kind of tree. Their hollow trunks are used as graves for people of my caste.

Moira-Dialogue-Tag
Fascinating. We Norsemen have tales about Yggdrasil, a gigantic tree at the center of the cosmos...

Kari Dialogue Tag
No wonder they drop you into hollow trees if you tell such stories! I liked it, though.

Blod-Dialogue-Tag
I think I get it. It's a tale about the consequences of your actions. Don't be greedy, or you'll pay later.

Eirik-Dialogue-Tag
Björn... I hope he will choke on the soup we give him...

The Bat and the Rat

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Hey! Would anyone want to know why the bat only flies by night?

Kari Dialogue Tag

Unless this is hunting tips, I'm pretty sure I don't want to hear this shit.

Moira Dialogue Tag

... If this story can keep obnoxious children silent, please, we are ALL listening.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Once upon a time, the rat and the bat were great friends. They always fed together. But the rat was more popular among ladies, and the bat was jealous. When the bat prepared soup, it was always delicious, so the rat asked him how it could be so tasty. "I always boil myself in the water, and my flesh is so sweet that the soup is good", said the bat. Then he jumped into a pot of hot water, which was not boiling, and came out after a few seconds. When he served the soup it was as excellent as usual, as the bat had prepared it beforehand.

Blod Dialogue Tag

So he just bathed in it? That's kind of disgusting. And weird...

Kari Dialogue Tag

Not unless he peed in the soup!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

The rat then went home, and told his wives he was going to make good soup like the bat's. So his wives boiled some water, and when they were not looking, he jumped into the pot, and died. When his wives found his dead body in the pot, they became very angry and reported the matter to the king. Everyone turned out to catch the bat, but he hid. And ever since, he only comes out by night.

  • What a treacherous prick!

Eirik Dialogue Tag

That... Was really low... Imagine, your best friend tricks you into killing yourself, just like that!

Blod Dialogue Tag

This doesn't add up. What would the bat gain, since the rat's wives hate him?

Moira Dialogue Tag

Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if the king was involved... Did he pay the bat to murder the rat?

Eirik Dialogue Tag

Conspiracy? Aren't you two a bit paranoid?

Moira Dialogue Tag

I don't see why the bat would turn into a royal assassin unless the rat was a royal bastard.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Err... This isn't really what the story was about...

  • Good riddance.

Kari Dialogue Tag

The rat was a freaking idiot. The bat did him a favor!

Moira Dialogue Tag

Yeah, and he had a bit too many wives for my taste... But more importantly, he had no problem enjoying a soup flavored by his friend's hypothetically boiled butt. Which I find slightly disturbing... So the rat was a cannibal, right?

Kari Dialogue Tag

Eeew, gross!

Blod Dialogue Tag

I hope we won't come down to this if we lack food.

Eirik Dialogue Tag

...

Moira Dialogue Tag

Let's eat Cissé first then!

Kari Dialogue Tag

I'll take a leg!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

...! (These people... They scare me sometimes...)

Cissé's New Song

This event only occurs after Cissé's event with Moira, people of the mind [unconfirmed].

Blod-Dialogue-Tag

Cissé, wouldn't you mind singing a few songs for us?

Moira Dialogue Tag

Oh yes! Your music always soothes my mind. Please!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Erm... I don't know if...

Eirik Dialogue Tag

Come on Cissé... The ladies are waiting!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Okay... Okay... Hmmm... I may have a new song...

Cissé starts playing a few melancholic notes on his weird instrument. He sings with a deep, gentle voice...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

She has hair of flame, and skin of silk... The maiden of my dreams, that I can't stop thinking... Her mind is sharp, her tongue is swift... Her presence of earth is a gift. HmmmHmmmHmmm...

Moira Dialogue Tag

(What the...!!!)

Kari Dialogue Tag

(Is he... singing about...)

Blod-Dialogue-Tag

(Moira... You sly little fox...)

Cisse Dialogue Tag

So... That's it... My new song. What do you think?

Blod-Dialogue-Tag

Yes, MOIRA, what do you think?

  • That's sweet...

Moira Dialogue Tag

Not bad, not bad... The topic of the song is what makes it good, obviously. You could work a bit more on some lyrics... They're a bit... Awkward. Go back to the writing table, skald! And show me what you've got!

  • SO lame!

Moira Dialogue Tag

Pfffrrrrtttt... BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

...

Moira Dialogue Tag

Sorryy AHAH sorry... AH! Hehe... I can't stop... AHAHA laughing Pffrrrttt...

Cissé & Blodeuwedd[ | ]

My People

This event does not appear to have a trigger and occurs randomly

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Blodeuwedd... It is such a different name than what I'm used to, I wouldn't even know how to sing it.

Blod Dialogue Tag

I hope you won't write songs about me all day long... I'd prefer you go chop some wood.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Don't be afraid! My mind wanders in a sea of words all day long! I can work AND craft tales at the same time AH AH AH!

Blod Dialogue Tag

I'm afraid you are not focused on the here and now...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

As a griot, it is my duty to tell the tales of my people. And... now, you are my people.

  • We're not your people

Blod Dialogue Tag
Don't get the wrong idea... My "people" is my family. You're just a stranger. A strange one too.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
We're not related by blood. But I am now, by nature, the witness and keeper of your deeds. I live in your village, you'll live in my songs. And so will this island and all its inhabitants.

Blod Dialogue Tag
You'll have to earn our trust by deeds. Not by words, even beautiful ones.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
... I am just an humble servant of history, art and beauty. I wish you could understand... But I can't make you.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
Like they say, crops won't grow before the rain has fallen.

  • What tales would you tell me?

Blod-Dialogue-Tag

I'm curious about your lore... Tell me one of your stories.

Cisse-Dialogue-Tag

That will be my pleasure! So... This is the story of the dog who hid his mother. There was a terrible famine in the animal kingdom, so they met, and decided they would eat their mothers. The dog, who didn't want to sacrifice his mother, decided to hide her in the sky. Everyday, once all had killed and eaten their mothers, he sang a song asking his mother to drop a rope. The dog would climb to the sky where his mother would have a feast waiting for him. One day, the tortoise went to the same spot, and, disguising his voice like the dog, he sang the song. But the dog was near and sang to warn her mother, who cut the rope. The tortoise crashed to the ground. This caused tortoise's shell to break into many pieces. He managed to glue these pieces together... And this is why the tortoise has the rough shell we know today.

Blod-Dialogue-Tag

Hum... I have no idea what a tortoise is, nor what the tale was about...But you told it very well. Thank you Cissé.

Face of Flowers

This event does not appear to have a trigger and occurs randomly

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Blodeuwedd, I know how to sing your name, but not its meaning. Where does it come from? It would help me to understand your character, and write the tale.

Blod Dialogue Tag

If you must... Mother told me once it means "Face of Flowers". And before you say it's beautiful... It's just a nicer way to say "freckles".

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Like they say, a woman is a flower in a garden, her husband is the fence around it! But I guess in our story, you are both the flower AND the fence!

  • What do you mean?

Blod-Dialogue-Tag

I don't know how I should take that...

Cisse-Dialogue-Tag

I think this village would collapse without your strength. Eirik needs you. We all do... So indeed, you'll be the pillar of the tale. The fence around the village.

Blod-Dialogue-Tag

If you say so... But please, make it more than a tale. Whatever you create, make it useful. I don’t want to be a fence around a graveyard. We don’t need tales yet, we need answers.

Cisse-Dialogue-Tag

As we say in my beloved sunny land, what you learn is what you die with. You are right. I will do my best to unravel the tale of this island. Maybe the trees or the sea will know it. I will listen. I will ask.

  • Enough gibberish!

Blod Dialogue Tag
This doesn't make any sense, and please, don't serve me another of your old saying... I like you, Cissé, but I don't understand half of what you are saying, most of the time. And what we need right now is knowledge. Not poetry and songs.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
...

Cisse Dialogue Tag
Wisdom is like fire. People take it from others. I've heard you, Blodeuwedd. But what do you want me to do?

Blod Dialogue Tag
I'd like you to look for the secrets of this island. The survival of the "village" may well depend on them. With all your wisdom, I'm sure you could help finding answers.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
You are right. I will do my best to unravel the tale of this island. Maybe the trees or the sea will know it. I will listen. I will ask.

Spirit's Land

This event only occurs after the previous event "Face of Flowers"

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Blodeuwedd, I have given some thought to what we discussed last time... I think the island isn't entirely part of the known world. It may belong to the spirits land.

Blod Dialogue Tag

What do you mean? That we're all already dead? Is it Hel?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

No... Spirits are no more dead than you and me. Theyjust live in another land, one that is hard to reach. I feel that we were somehow called here, like the moth is called by the flame. Now the question is, how do we avoid getting burned? Can we decide our fate, or has it been decided?

  • We Were Called?

Blod Dialogue Tag

What makes you think some kind of spirit called us to this forsaken island?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Well, for once, did you notice how we all speak the same language? I am a scholar among my people, and yet, I have never heard one word of the Norsemen's language.

Blod Dialogue Tag

But you speak my language perfectly!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

I don't. It is you who speak mine flawlessly... Or mostly, this is my language that I hear when you speak. This is why I think we were invited here by some powerful spirits.

Blod Dialogue Tag

I can't deny it. That's... unsettling.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

As we say in my beloved sunny land... When the gods are cooking, there is no smoke.

  • What About This "Flame"?

Blod Dialogue Tag
Do you think we're mere insects about to be crushed by a divine power?

Cisse Dialogue Tag
We may be as flies caught in Anansi's great web. We thought we came here by our own will, and yet...Our luck was a bit forced, don’t you think? What were the odds for us to meet? Now, that doesn’t mean whatever brought us here is evil. In a way, we have been saved from the sea.

Blod Dialogue Tag
Yes. but living here is difficult... We're barely surviving. Is it some kind of trial from the gods?

Cisse Dialogue Tag
A trial it is, of this I have no doubt. But to what purpose? We'll have to find out. Like they say, you always learn a lot more when you lose than when you win.

Cissé & Eirik[ | ]

Warrior Or Man of Peace?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Eirik! Can I ask you something? I've been wondering about who you really are since I met you.

Eirik Dialogue Tag

Who I really am? What do you mean?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Well, I am confused. You look like a warrior, a man who can kill and destroy for a living. But you also seem to be a man of peace, as I am.

  • I'm a warrior.

Eirik Dialogue Tag
I'm a warrior. As a Norseman, this is how I've been raised. For now, I can only bow to these bullies, but one day I'll drink in Björn's skull.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
Really? You don't strike me as someone capable of such mindless brutality.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
As they say, one who causes others misfortune also teaches them wisdom.

Eirik Dialogue Tag
Wisdom... I fear this new world is as mad as the one we left... If there is a secret meaning in all this, I'm still wondering what.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
Who knows... Knowing that you know nothing is the beginning of a wonderful journey, my friend.

I'm a man of peace.

Eirik Dialogue Tag
I'm a man of peace, and this situation pains me... We've fled violence, only to find more violence. But I have to be strong, or my family will suffer.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
An army of sheep led by a lion can crush an army of lions led by a sheep. I don't think violence can solve anything. It only causes more violence, and so on, in an endless cycle.

Eirik Dialogue Tag
I agree Cissé... I agree...

Eirik Dialogue Tag
Björn's message was clear. They don't talk or negotiate or anything. They take what they want.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Patience can cook a stone, Eirik. Tomorrow may bring a solution. If not, the day after...

The Monkey's Bottom

Cisse Dialogue Tag

How do you feel, Eirik? You seem to be in a mood as grim as a hyena's rectum tonight!

Eirik Dialogue Tag

I'm brooding on the past, my friend. And the future doesn't look better.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

I see. What you need is a little song, then. Do you know how the monkey's bottom got swollen and red? The monkey was boasting he should be king instead of the lion, and the tortoise thought it was silly. The tortoise didn't want a fool for a king, so he decided to put the monkey back in his place. He went home to prepare some delicious akara into which he added some fresh honey. Then he put a basket full of sweet akara outside the lion's door. The lion ate them all with delight! It was the best akara he ever had! He grabbed the tortoise by the neck and asked where to get more. The tortoise explained it was a secret. The delicious akara was in fact poop coming from the monkey's butt. So the lion went immediately to the monkey's house and asked for his sweet poop. The monkey was confused and gave the lion a blank stare. He was terrified and defecated on the spot. It was not sweet and the lion was mad. So he beat the monkey's bottom until it was all swollen and red. Since then, the monkey has shelved his ambition to become king of all the animals.

  • Ahah.. Funny.

Eirik Dialogue Tag

That's a good story, Cissé! You win, I laughed. It's been a while...

Eirik Dialogue Tag

Seriously, where did you learn such wicked tales?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

I think this one comes from my grandmother... I remember she told me the tortoise himself had told her this story. I believed her, back then. Who knows? Maybe she was telling the truth! There is an old saying in our land that... Stories always tell the truth.

  • Akara? What is it?

Eirik Dialogue Tag
What kind of food is this?

Cisse Dialogue Tag
Some sort of fried bean cake. Everyone in the village gets his share of akara in moments of celebrations.

Eirik Dialogue Tag
I sure wish we had something to celebrate besides staying alive one more day... But I wonder... Is the lion so stupid he can barely tell the difference between food and shit?

Cisse Dialogue Tag
Well... There is an old saying in our land that... Even the king has to be taught!

Eirik Dialogue Tag
Where I come from, kings sure need to be taught... They don't know much except feasting and killing.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
Ha! Maybe they'd need a griot, my friend.

Lightning and Thunder

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Eirik, I've heard you and your family ended up there after a terrible storm.

Eirik Dialogue Tag

Yes, that is true. What a dreaded night it was... I still don’t know how we made it.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Do you know the story of the lightning and the thunder?

Eirik Dialogue Tag

Indeed, it‘s Thor, with his mighty hammer Mjölnir, whose sparks become lightning! And mortals cover in fear as they hear the rumble of his chariot wheels thundering across the sky.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Well, in my beloved sunny land, thunder and lighting lived among people, on the far end of the town. The thunder was an old mother sheep, and the lightning was her son, a ram. When the ram got angry he used to burn houses and knock down trees, and even kill people! Then his mother used to call out to him in a very loud voice to stop and not to do any more damage. But the lightning most often didn't listen to his mother at all, and caused tremendous acts of destruction. The people could not stand it any longer, so the king exiled the mother and son to the forest. But the angry son burned the forest, and the flames spread to the farms and fields. The people complained again. Mother and son were sent to the sky, where they could not do much harm. Ever since, when the lightning is angry, you can hear his mother, the thunder, telling him to stop. Sometimes, however, when the mother has gone away some distance from her naughty son... you can still see that he is angry and is doing damage, but his mother's voice cannot be heard.

  • This is Utterly Silly.

Eirik Dialogue Tag
Horseshit! This doesn't make any sense, everyone knows this is Thor's work!

Cisse Dialogue Tag
In your land, perhaps, but not in mine...

Eirik Dialogue Tag
Thor is a god, he goes wherever he wants!

Cisse Dialogue Tag
I've never heard of a white man on a chariot in our sunny lands, so I don't think he ever visited us.

Eirik Dialogue Tag
Really? Maybe so, but he sure followed me here, and nearly killed me and my family!

Cisse Dialogue Tag
... You can't blame the spirits, they don't have a will of their own. They are like mischievous little children, with tremendous powers.

Eirik Dialogue Tag
... These kids should be taught a good lesson. They shouldn't play with our lives.

  • Interesting Idea!

Eirik Dialogue Tag
It never occurred to me that Thor wouldn't go to distant lands...But it seems the world doesn't end where I thought it would, so what do I know? If your skins are black and your mountains are made of sand, thunder and lighting could be mother and son.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
It reminds me of an old saying in our land that... One who doesn't know something knows another.

Eirik Dialogue Tag
...Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us, Cissé. It's good to have you here.

Cissé & Kari[ | ]

Your Story

This event does not appear to have a trigger and occurs randomly.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Your name is Kari, right? Do I pronounce it properly?

Kari Dialogue Tag

No. The right way to pronounce it is to never say it.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Oh? How is this so? That's an interesting custom, but why would you have a name you'd never use?

Kari Dialogue Tag

I don't want YOU to use it. I don't want to hear it in one of your weird-ass songs.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

But you're Eirik and Blodeuwedd's daughter, an important figure of the village! How am I supposed to tell your family's story if I can't use your name?

  • Just don't.

Kari Dialogue Tag
I don't want to be part of any story, old man. Especially when the current story is "unlucky girl gets bored to death on a deadly island"!

Kari Dialogue Tag
Don't you have anything better to do than telling stories anyway? Slicing Björn's throat in his sleep would make a great story, why don't you try this instead?

Cisse Dialogue Tag
It reminds me of an old saying in our land that... when your luck deserts you, even cold food burns. I know you're upset. I would have been too, when I was your age. But your family is whole, and you have a shelter and a purpose. It could always be worse, so smile!

Kari Dialogue Tag
By Thor and Loki, you're so LAME! Never heard so much stupidity in so few words.

Kari Dialogue Tag
You'll die quick, Cissé. Sorry for you. Almost.

  • Which story?

Kari Dialogue Tag

Which story do you want to tell? Happy family gets nearly killed by nasty men, gets lost at sea, repeat?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

That sounds like a good start, but I'd add a little more fun. We all need a bit of fun, right? And I'm more interested by what will happen after. I think we're all here for a reason. We met on purpose. Future generation will need to hear this tale, I'm sure it will be epic!

Kari Dialogue Tag

You're about as crazy as my aunt Moira, old man. So I guess you're okay. Take that as a compliment.

A Little Tale

This event does not appear to have a trigger and occurs randomly.

Cisse Dialogue Tag Kari! A little tale has come to my mind lately, I think you'd like it, do you want to hear it?

  • No. Way.

Kari Dialogue Tag At the moment, I'd rather be savagely molested by Bjorn's men... I'm pretty sure it would be quicker and less painful than listening to one of your stories. And it would kill me all the same. I don't know what makes you think I'd like to hear your crap. Is it because I'm not sleeping yet? Do you think I need lullabies? I'm not a child Cisse, in case you didn't notice. So please go swing that instrument of yours in someone else's face before I shove it up your ass!

  • Cisse: -10 to opinion of Kari
  • Kari: -20 to opinion of Cisse

  • Not now. Counting sheep will do...

Kari Dialogue Tag I'm trying to sleep. Which means I need silence, not music.

Cisse Dialogue Tag Silence, yes, yes... Silence is the music of the soul. Only then, when you're alone and everything's quiet, you can hear spirits singing.

Kari-Dialogue-Tag

Not sure I want to... I only hear an old man's ramblings...

Cisse Dialogue Tag This could be one of your ancestors talking. Listen carefully. They may teach you something. You may learn the language of the night, the secret tongue of the ones before you. You may learn long lost words of wisdom, whispered by unsung heroes. You may... Kari? Are you sleeping, child?

The Tortoise and the Porridge

This event does not appear to have a trigger and occurs randomly.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

So, Kari, how is it going?

Kari Dialogue Tag

I'm in a foul mood and you're definitely not improving it, old man.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Like they say, if someone tries to swallow a whole coconut, he trusts his anus entirely!

Kari Dialogue Tag

Woooooot? By Thor... So gross! How can you know so much stupid stuff, old man?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

That's part of my job. I can tell you the story of how the tortoise's dick fell off. It happened long before the tortoise broke his back because of the dog's mother, but that is another story. The dog and his mother were cooking a feast of delicious hot porridge, and the tortoise followed the smell. He wanted all of the porridge for himself, so he told the dogs that the king wanted to see them immediately. The dogs left in a hurry, and the tortoise began to eat as fast as he could, for the dog would be back soon. Soon, he heard the dog family approaching, but there was still a lot of oatmeal left in the pot. So the tortoise filled his pants with hot oatmeal to carry it quickly without anyone noticing. But when the dogs arrived, they asked the tortoise to stay for lunch, and convinced him to stay. Eventually, the porridge was so hot that the tortoise just had to pull off his pants. Everybody was shocked when he pulled of his pants to reveal steaming hot porridge. The porridge had burned his groin so badly that his dick fell off and in fact, never grew back again.

Cissé & Moira[ | ]

Moira... Moira... Moira...

This event does not appear to have a trigger and occurs randomly

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Moira... Moira... Moira... What does your name mean? I am intrigued.

Moira-Dialogue-Tag

It means "The one who rips men's balls off with her bare hands", if I remember well.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Ow! Your parents must have an interesting history to give such a name to their daughter.

Moira-Dialogue-Tag

Sheesh... I'm kidding... It actually means "Fate". Basically the same thing, but with a slightly more serious tone, I guess.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Fate... Hmmm... Our encounter must have been decided by Fate then!

  • Mock him.

Moira-Dialogue-Tag
There must have been a problem... I asked Fate to bring me two big muscular naked men... Not a tiny, weirdly dressed, skald!

Cisse Dialogue Tag
Aha... Fate can be cruel sometimes. Almost as much as you!

Moira-Dialogue-Tag
... You know how to talk to ladies, Cissé... No wonder you are still a virgin.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
But! I thought we were joking! My sincerest apologies Moira, I didn't mean it...

Moira-Dialogue-Tag
AHAHAH! You're too easy to mess with. You lose, Cissé!

Cisse Dialogue Tag
... It reminds me of an old saying in our land that... You always learn a lot more when you lose than when you win.

Moira-Dialogue-Tag
Be prepared to learn A LOT from me, then...

  • Ask about his name.

Moira-Dialogue-Tag
Cissé... Cissé... Cissé... What does your name mean?

Cisse Dialogue Tag
My full name is Cissé Kouyaté... When I come form, it is a famous name. My family serves the Emperor. We sing the story of the mightiest people of our sunny land.

Moira-Dialogue-Tag
You served an emperor, and you managed to end up on this forgotten rock. Were you bad at your job?

Cisse Dialogue Tag
... Quite the contrary, some would say... It's not really a story I'd like to sing right now...

Moira-Dialogue-Tag
Hmmkay... I don't really care, for starters.

The Lion's Whisker

This only occurs after the previous event "Moira... Moira... Moira...".

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Moira, do you want to hear a sweet tale from my beloved sunny land?

Moira-Dialogue-Tag

It can't be worse than the continuous laments I hear daily, so yes, please entertain me. Or die trying.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

It won't bore you, I promise. This is the story of the lion's whiskers... Once upon a time, a young man and a young woman lived in a small village. They were meant to be married, but the man loved the woman more than she did, and it made him sad. So the young man went to the oldest man in the village and asked for his guidance.

Moira-Dialogue-Tag

Let me guess, they got drunk, the old fart gave him some stupid manly advice, and the marriage failed?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

No, no... He told him eh could brew a magic potion to light her fiancé's flame, but he was lacking an ingredient. What the old man needed was a whisker taken from a living lion. So the young man resolved to go fetch one. It took him four weeks, bringing meat to a lion, watching him feed, getting a little closer every day... Until the day he was close enough to quietly pull a whisker from the lion's mighty chin!

Moira-Dialogue-Tag

Then the lion ate him, and the young woman married the old man, who also happened to be filthy rich?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

No! The young man triumphantly brought the whisker to the old man, so he could brew the potion. The elder was in awe. "You were brave enough to pull a whisker from the chin of a living lion! You don't need magic to make a woman love you. Can you not use that same courage and patience for her?" So the young man went to her fiancé, and within a year, they became the happiest couple in the village.

  • Nice try, young man!

Moira-Dialogue-Tag

Let me guess: the "lovers" are actually older, there's no lion, and given enough time, the tale could become reality? I have to admit, this is way more subtly, and even charming, compared to what I'm used to. But you're not my type, Cissé... I prefer them tall and dumb. And good in bed.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Aha... As we say, only a fool tests the depth of a river with both feet. I'll overwhelm you with kindness and wisdom until you change your mind, Moira!

  • Okay, that's cute!

Moira-Dialogue-Tag

I'd say the young man is a suicidal numbskull, not to mention the old pervert who is a manipulate scumbag. But both are bold enough to spark my interest... to some degree. That was a nice story, Cissé. No doubt you know how to tell them.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Glad you liked it. I hope to tell you many more, in time. This is what I live for!

Sharp Spirit

This only occurs after the previous event "The Lion's Whisker".

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Moira, I have a question about something that has been eluding me for a while.

Moira Dialogue Tag

l have a feeling you will be disappointed by my answer, no matter what you have in mind. But shoot.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Well... How come you've never been married? I'm sure many men would enjoy your sharp spirit.

Moira Dialogue Tag

Ha! That's the most flattering way a man has ever asked me this freaking question! As a matter of fact, my spirit is so sharp it tends to cut their dicks off before they can ask a second question.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Ow! It reminds me of an old saying in our land that... the most dangerous thing a man needs is a woman. But since it seems we'll never leave this island, have you thought about settling one day?

  • This Will Never Happen.

Moira Dialogue Tag

Look, I enjoy a good man from time to time. Even a woman. But I don't want to be trapped. I like my freedom above anything else. And children? No. Way. I mean, look at my niece! I live with myself, and that's already complicated enough for me.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

... I see... A fish and a bird may fall in love, but the two cannot build a home together.

Moira Dialogue Tag

If you're implying I look like a fish, I may use an object sharper than my spirit to hit you...

  • Not Really.

Moira Dialogue Tag
I've never given this much thought. Most men I've been with were worthless pieces of trash. And raising a family on a deadly magical island doesn't sound like the smart thing to do at the moment. Also, a man I'd live with could find me rather demanding... and not ONLY in bed.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
It reminds me of an old saying in our land that... the buttocks are like a married couple... Though there is constant friction between them, they will still love and live together.

Moira Dialogue Tag
...? AHAH! You say all kinds of weird stuff in your sunny land, but I have to admit, I've grown rather fond of it.

Moira Dialogue Tag
You're a man full of surprises Cissé. .. I can't take that away from you.

People of the Mind

This only occurs after the previous event "Sharp Spirit".

Cisse Dialogue Tag

You'll never cease to amaze me, Moira!

Moira Dialogue Tag

By my beauty? I know, I know... Men say that all the time.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Aha, I'm amazed by that too, but I was speaking of your vast knowledge. You are a real asset to this community, you know?

Moira Dialogue Tag

Tell that to my sister... She always says that I'm lazy... I MAY sometimes take a little nap in the afternoon, but being intelligent is TIRING, you know?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Oh, I know very well... We are people of the mind. People of the body tend to despise us. As we say, you cannot convince a monkey that honey is sweeter than a banana!

  • What else amazes you in me?

Moira Dialogue Tag

What else amazes you when you see me?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Many things! There is a bad saying in my homeland, that every woman is beautiful until she speaks. This proverb has never proved to be more wrong! Everytime I listen to your voice, I am mesmerised.

Moira Dialogue Tag

You don't think I'm too mean... Sometimes? All the time?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

No! Not if you listen carefully with your mind and your heart! As they say, there are many colorful flowers on the path of life, but the prettiest have the sharpest thorns.

  • You compare my sister to an animal?

Moira Dialogue Tag

I like it when you compare my sister to a wild beast.

Moira Dialogue Tag

BUT...! Since I have the privilege to share the same blood, that would make ME a wild beast too! Thank you, Cissé. Very nice.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

That's not what I...! No no no...

Moira Dialogue Tag

Humpff... I'll go now. I have poo to throw to my fellow monkeys.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

(... Is she really mad? I should apologise when I can, just in case...)

Cissé: + Depression Depression

Presents

This only occurs after the previous event "People of the Mind".

Moira Dialogue Tag

You know Cissé, in our homeland, when a man wants to impress a woman, he brings her some presents...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Ah! As we say in my homeland, having a good discussion is like having riches!

Moira Dialogue Tag

Hmm yeah... But no. I want a present!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

... What kind?

Moira Dialogue Tag

There is this beautiful flower, that grows rather far from the camp...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

No problem, I'll go fetch you one!

After a long, tiring walk, Cissé comes back with some flowers.

Moira Dialogue Tag

Thank you Cissé! My hero!

Moira drops a single kiss on Cissé's cheek.

Moira Dialogue Tag

I don't know if you could... No that's too much to ask...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

You can ask me anything!

Moira Dialogue Tag

If you insist... I would need some water to make a potion out of these beautiful flowers...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

No problem!

Moira Dialogue Tag

And some wood!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

As we say, a single stick may smoke, but it will not burn!

Cissé comes back after a while, covered in sweat.

Moira Dialogue Tag

You're a life saver Cissé!

  • He's kind...

Moira Dialogue Tag

Tell me, how did you survive this long being such a gentle soul?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

*pant* I *pant* sincerely don't *pant* know... AS they say *pant*, if you are filled with pride, *pant* then you will have no room for wisdom. And a wise person will always find a way!

That fool does anything I want.

Moira Dialogue Tag

It's been such a long time I've eaten a big, juice fruit... You know the ones? The red berries coming from this grove not far from camp.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

*pant* The grove filled with *pant* thorns? Yes I *pant* see...

A few hours later, Cissé came back to camp with his hands full of red berries... And full of scars.

Death and Children

This only occurs after the previous event "Presents".

Cissé and Moira find themselves alone, around the campfire. While Cissé is playing some notes on his weird instrument, Moira rests her head on his leg.

Moira Dialogue Tag

... I could listen to your music forever...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

I shall play forever, then!

Moira Dialogue Tag

... What do you think there is, after... Death...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Hmm... In my homeland, we believe that your body and your spirit melt with earth, air, water. But here... I don't know. Only a fool would say he knows such things.

Moira Dialogue Tag

And ghosts.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Aha yes... Why are you thinking about death, Moira?

Moira Dialogue Tag

I-... I'm afraid... I'm afraid to just disappear, and leave no trace here. I guess that's why people make babies... I never thought of it before being so close to death. And I fear that now... It's too late.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Why do you say that? You can always leave a trace! You left a trace on everyone you interacted with! Me, your family... Even our enemies. They will carry your legacy way beyond your death.

Moira Dialogue Tag

...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

And... You still can find a husband and bear a child...

Moira Dialogue Tag

But... Will I be able to carry a child? Maybe that's something your body forgets how to do, if you close your mind to it for too much time? And what if... I'm a bad mom? What if... My son becomes a new Björn, because I raised him badly?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

... As we say, when you follow in the path of your father, you learn to walk like him. I'm sure everything will be fine.

Moira Dialogue Tag

...

  • You promise?

Moira Dialogue Tag

It's a promise?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

... Yes.

Moira Dialogue Tag

It's a lie, but it's a heartwarming one. Thank you Cissé.

  • Too much booze... I'm drunk.

Moira Dialogue Tag

Zzzz... Zzzz...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

...! Sleep well, Moira.

Love hurts

Cissé comes back to camp badly hurt! Everyone comes to help him limp to the Healing Tent.

He passes out. While unconscious, Moira tends to his wounds.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

M-...Moira?

Moira Dialogue Tag

I'm here, you fool. What have you done this time?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Are we... Alone?

Moira Dialogue Tag

Hmm? Yes, why-...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Then please, let me say what I have to say, without interrupting me...

Moira Dialogue Tag

...?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

I went looking for some goons from Björn... Alone... So that I would get hurt... It was my only chance to get some time alone with you, and have the courage to say what I'm going to say. Moira, I have loved you, from the bottom of my heart, since I first saw you. I know that love has to be shown by deeds not words, so I promise that if you allow me too love you... Everyday I'll do my best to make you happy, and to make you smile. When I see this beautiful smile on your face, only then I feel alive. I feel a warmth in my hearth... I could do anything to just see your smile everyday. In my homeland, they say to never marry a women who has bigger feet than you... But I'm sure that there is no saying that to never marry a women who has a bigger heart than you!

Moira Dialogue Tag

...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

...

Moira Dialogue Tag

...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

I'm finished now aha... Say something, or I'll die right here right now!

Moira Dialogue Tag

...

The feeling is mutual.

Moira Dialogue Tag

Cissé... You dumb old fool!!!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

...!

Moira Dialogue Tag

You didn't have to bleed to death to say that to me! I could kick you where it hurts from rage!

As she said these words, Moira bent on Cissé's bed and laid a delicate kiss on his lips.

Moira Dialogue Tag

You'd better survive your wounds, now! Or I'll come and get you in Hel if I must!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

...

We're just very good friends.

???

Cissé & Eustache[ | ]

Love Advice

This event can only trigger if the player has the Norse Side Stories DLC active AND both characters are part of the camp.

Eustache Dialogue Tag

Hey, music man... Don't you know anything else than depressing tunes? It's getting on my nerves...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Sorry that my little songs aren't of your taste. Sadly, music reflects the inner soul, and my soul is sad at the moment.

Eustache Dialogue Tag

Hmm? What happened? You realized that we will surely end up dying an horrible death on this damned island? AH!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

I'm not afraid of dying. As we say, death is like a dress that, at some point or another, everyone has to wear. My heart is aching, and without knowing it, you are no stranger to my suffering...

Eustache Dialogue Tag

Wait... Are you saying that I broke your heart? Sorry Cissé, I don't do men.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Ah ah ah... No, no... My heart belongs to a particular woman in this camp, but sadly, I saw how she looks at you... With stars in her eyes. But when she looks at me... Nothing happens. It's not your fault, it's just...

Eustache Dialogue Tag

AH! But my poor Cissé, you think you'll get in a woman's pants just by looking at her?? AHAHAHAHA! I'm in a good mood tonight, I'll give you some love advices. If it can improve your mood AND your music, that's for the best.

  • Listen

Eustache Dialogue Tag
Good! SO listen well, the first lesson is: if you really want something, TAKE IT!

Eustache shared his *wisdom* with Cissé for a while. Cissé quickly regretted listening to the hooded man...

  • Not interested

???

Cissé & Gudrun[ | ]

Happy Gudrun

This event can only trigger if the player has the Norse Side Stories DLC active AND both characters are part of the camp.

Gudrun Dialogue Tag

Teeheehee...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Hmm...? Yes, Gudrun?

Gudrun Dialogue Tag

Teeheeheeheehee...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

That's good to see you smile, but... Can you tell me what makes you so happy? Maybe it will make me smile too!

Gudrun Dialogue Tag

Ooooh... Gudrun could make you very happy, handsome black man... Teeheehee!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

...! Ah! Err... Hmm... That was unexpected! Ahaha! I don't think... err... how can I put it...

Gudrun Dialogue Tag

You know where to put it, right?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Owowowowowow! Gudrun, please... Don't... Erm... say things like that!

Gudrun Dialogue Tag

You're right, let's stop the foreplay... let's get physical now! Kekekekekeke!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

DON'T COME NEAR ME! Look, listen... As we say in my land, you cannot build a house for last year's summer...

Gudrun Dialogue Tag

Oh don't worry, I don't want to move in your house, I just want your c-...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

OKAY! Weeeeeeell... Sorry Gudrun, we'll continue this discussion another time, okay? I hear Blodeuwedd shouting me name... She needs me. Okay? Bye!

Gudrun Dialogue Tag

Kekekekekekekekekeke...

Learning Spells

This event can only trigger if the player has the Norse Side Stories DLC active AND both characters are part of the camp.

Gudrun Dialogue Tag

Psst... Wanna make a spell together? Just the two os us... Teeheehee!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Erm... Sorry but I am not a wizard, Gudrun. I may sometimes hear the spirits, but that's all.

Gudrun Dialogue Tag

Pff! That's the same, silly. You don't have the knowledge, but you have the power.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

You think so? I don't know...

Gudrun Dialogue Tag

You know nothing, Cissé. Let me guide your hand and dive with me into the black arts!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

...

  • No way

???

  • That may be useful... (Wisdom)
Failure
???

Success
Cisse Dialogue Tag
... These are troubled times... We have to make sacrifices if we want to survive. I accept your offer.

Gudrun Dialogue Tag
Sacrifices... yes, yes... you are on the good path. But there is more... much more! Would you like to know more?

Cisse Dialogue Tag
I'm already regretting this...

Gudrun Dialogue Tag
SO! Who will we curse? Hmm... An easy target. That brat maybe, what's her name again...? Grumble...

Cisse Dialogue Tag
Kari?

Gudrun Dialogue Tag
YES! That's it. You see, you are already making progress. Remembering stupid names is half the work.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
Could we skip the "curses" topic? I'd prefern learn about positive magic... that could help people.

Gudrun Dialogue Tag
Pwah! Getting rid of that annoying wild girl would make a lot of good to this camp, believe me. Kekekekeke...

Cisse Dialogue Tag
... Do you know some healing spells, for example?

Gudrun Dialogue Tag
... You just have to pour some herbs in water and convince people it will work... there is no magic there, idiot.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
The power of words... words can be more powerful than axes!

Gudrun Dialogue Tag
AH! Maybe... But you have to find the good ones, at the right time... hard stuff. You can't go wrong with swinging an axe on people's heads.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
That's hardly magic, though. You really don't want to teach me anything, do you?

Gudrun Dialogue Tag
Tchh... I'll teach you the runes... what you make of it is up to you.

Cissé & Knut[ | ]

Cissé's Kora

This event can only trigger if the player has the Norse Side Stories DLC active AND both characters are part of the camp.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Wh-... What happened?! My... my kora! It's broken! Knut, do you know something?!

Knut Dialogue Tag

Grumpf, I needed the wood and the strings to repair the roof.

Knut Dialogue Tag

You'll thank me tonight when it doesn't rain on your bed.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

What?! But... Knut... Where to begin...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

This instrument was my property. You should have asked me before tearing it appart. It's just like theft!

Knut Dialogue Tag

Pfff, we don't have time to chit-chat like women. You'd have agreed with me.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

N-...No! Of course not! It was very dear to me. And we need songs as much as we need food!

Knut Dialogue Tag

Yeah, right... I don't have time for your nonsense. Maybe you'll start working more on the camp, rather than dozing off in the middle of the day, playing your thing.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

...

Cissé, with an heavy heart, worked until late in the night during several days to repair his beloved instrument.

A New Instrument

This event only occurs after the previous event "Cissé's Kora".

Knut Dialogue Tag

... Grumpf... Sorry for having wrecked your stupid instrument the other day... You were right, I should have asked. Here. Take this.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

What's that...? Is it an instrument that you made yourself?

Knut Dialogue Tag

Yeah... We call it Skalmejen. A fucking flute, if you will.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

...

  • Thank you

Cisse Dialogue Tag
That's very nice of you, Knut. Thank you. I'm glad we managed to overcome the bad blood between us, and that we can have a fresh new start. In peace.

Knut Dialogue Tag
Hmrpf...

Cisse Dialogue Tag
I like this idea of mixing the music of our different cultures... this is what our camp is about: a group of people coming from different worlds, making a new one!

Knut Dialogue Tag
You should make a song 'bout that...

Cisse Dialogue Tag
...! You're right! Oh I feel some ideas coming inside me... Quick, I must write them down!

  • No forgiveness

Cisse Dialogue Tag
That's a nice gesture, Knut. But gifts don't erase the past. What you did was truly an act of agression. I fear that this violence is still inside you.

Knut Dialogue Tag
What?! Stop your bullshit, I come with excuses and a gift and...! Hrmpf. Go to Hel then. *spit*

  • Knut gains the negative trait Angry for 3 days.

Cisse Dialogue Tag
... (This man... he is like a lion in a cage. He is dangerous!)

Cissé & Parvaneh[ | ]

Joyful Music

This event can only trigger if the player has the Norse Side Stories DLC active AND both characters are part of the camp.

Parvaneh Dialogue Tag

Cissé please... Could you play something a bit more joyful, for once?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

...? Sorry, beautiful Parvaneh, but it's not my fault... My music is just a reflexion of how I feel inside.

Parvaneh Dialogue Tag

Hush my little Cissé, hush... show auntie Parvaneh where it hurts... did you break a nail on this weird instrument of yours?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

... My heart is bleeding, Parvaneh. All this violence, all this arguing... It's taking a toll on me, tonight.

Parvaneh Dialogue Tag

Oh... That... Cheer up Cissé! I want to dance, but I need a good, upbeat song or else I'll get bored.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

...

  • Play a joyful song

???

  • Play a sad song

Cissé improvised a deeply emotional tune filled with memories from his homeland. A tear rolls on his cheek. Parvaneh yawned and didn't bother to listen until the end. She left to pester someone else.

Thinking he was alone, Cissé continued his beautiful song by singing some lyrics he wrote in secret. A story about one-sided love and a flaming hair maiden of the woods...

Moira Dialogue Tag

...

Cissé & Shanaw[ | ]

Cissés Journey

This event can only trigger if the player has the Norse Side Stories DLC active AND both characters are part of the camp.

Cissé Dialogue Tag

Do you hear them, Shanaw?

Shanaw Dialogue Tag

Hmm? Hear what, funny old man?

Cissé Dialogue Tag

The wind. The earth. The river. Listen. Do you hear them?

Shanaw Dialogue Tag

... Shanaw don't hear anything... Are you spirit guide, weird old Cissé?

Cissé Dialogue Tag

Aha! Yes! Mother nature speaks to me in my sleep! Sometimes I make songs out of it, and sometimes she tells me her secrets.

Shanaw Dialogue Tag

Wow! What Mother says right now? Tell Shanaw!

Cissé Dialogue Tag

Let me concentrate... Hmmm... ... AH! By the turtle and the hyena!

Shanaw Dialogue Tag

Wh-... what?! Don't scare me like that!

Cissé Dialogue Tag

Hmm... I saw... something... Deep below. In the heart of this island. Golden flames. Sleeping fury.

Cissé Dialogue Tag

I know the way, but I'm too scared to look again. Still... I'm intrigued... it could be important.

Shanaw Dialogue Tag

...

  • Go deeper!

Shanaw Dialogue Tag
Look again! And tell Shanaw what you see!

Cissé Dialogue Tag
Hmm... I see... A hole... a hole in the ground... lights... shining bright... I feel... wind... power... blue flames caress my skin... they don't burn... I see a woman... beautiful... horned... she doesn't want me to go deeper...

  • Go deeper!

Cissé Dialogue Tag
I... I'm going deeper... quicker... no ground under my feet, I'm... falling... floating... It's warm... the smell... rocks floating around me... purple smoke... lights... spinning... spinning...

  • Nearly there!

Cissé Dialogue Tag
I'm falling and spinning and burning! Aaaaaargh!

Cissé Dialogue Tag
... I... where am I...? I see... the stars... shining bright... dancing around me... heeheehee it's tickling my feet... I can almost grab the moon in my hand... almost... come here... Com-... HAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shanaw Dialogue Tag
Cissé?! What happened?

Cissé Dialogue Tag
By the mother and the father... I was... expelled. Shanaw... there was someone over there. He saw me! He looked at me and his eyes burnt my whole body from the inside!

Shanaw Dialogue Tag
Is Cissé alright?

Cissé Dialogue Tag
... I... I don't feel well. My body is aching. But my mind... I can see much clearer now...

Shanaw Dialogue Tag
Cissé don't ever do that again! Promise! Shanaw's fault...

Cissé Dialogue Tag
I'm fine, Shanaw. I just need some rest, but I'm fine. Something very powerful sleeps on this island... We have to be careful, the real threat may not be that Björn, after all...

  • Stop!

???
  • Better stop

???

  • Better stop

Cissé & Solveig[ | ]

A Lullaby For Thormod

This event can only trigger if the player has the Norse Side Stories DLC active AND both characters are part of the camp.

Cissé Dialogue Tag

Solveig, can I offer you my help?

Solveig Dialogue Tag

Hmm? Sorry Cissé, but as you can hear, my little Thormod doesn't want to sleep and I don't know what to do...

Cissé Dialogue Tag

That's what I was talking about, Solveig. Let me sing a lullaby to our little Thormod.

Solveig Dialogue Tag

Oh! Sorry I didn't understand... Of course, but I don't think it will...

Cissé started humming a soft song with his deep voice. Thormod seemed surprised at first, and soon fell into sleep, peacefully.

Solveig Dialogue Tag

Wow... Your voice have magical powers, Cissé! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Solveig: +20 to opinion of Cissé

Cissé Dialogue Tag

A child is a child of everyone. That's the power of love! Hahahaha!

Cissé: +20 to opinion of Solveig

Solveig Dialogue Tag

I think I'll need you every night, Cissé! You'll soon regret your tranquility! Teeheehee.

Cissé Dialogue Tag

Aha! Don't worry, I'd rather sing every night than fight every day!

Family

This event can only trigger if the player has the Norse Side Stories DLC active AND both characters are part of the camp.

Cissé Dialogue Tag

So, how is the little Thormod doing? Is he eating well? He is such a cute little boy!

Solveig Dialogue Tag

Teehee, he is doing just fine! He doesn't have the same worries as us... I kind of envy him, sometimes.

Cissé Dialogue Tag

Yes, such innocence is a real breath of fresh air! You are lucky to have him. Children are the reward of life, as we say in my sunny land!

Solveig Dialogue Tag

Teeheehee! Sorry if I am nosy, but... have you ever wanted to have a family, back there?

Cissé Dialogue Tag

Ah... The wise man usually don't regret anything... I guess I'm not so wise, ahaha! This is my biggest regret in life. You see, in our land, being a griot is not something you can become. You are born griot because your father was a griot, your grandfather was a griot,... It's in our blood, you see? So, we griots are only allowed to marry another griot... To keep the blood strong, they say. And... Sadly the only woman I knew who was also a griot... and that I loved... passed away.

Solveig Dialogue Tag

Oh... Cissé, that's so sad! I'm so sorry to have asked you about that if that brought back bad memories!

Cissé Dialogue Tag

Aha, it's not your fault, Solveig. Don't worry. Now I have you all as friends. We share the same path and it warms my heart.

Solveig Dialogue Tag

...

  • Give him a hug

Cissé Dialogue Tag
...!

Solveig Dialogue Tag
Everything's gonna be alright, Cissé... I'm sure of it!

Cissé Dialogue Tag
... Hold a friend with both hands, as we say. Thank you Solveig.

  • Leave him alone

???

Cissé & Lady Tomoe[ | ]

A Griot's Use

This event can only trigger if the player has the Norse Side Stories DLC active AND both characters are part of the camp.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Lady Tomoe the brave! I could make a load of incredible songs about you, you know!

Tomoe Dialogue Tag

... You could also use this time to fetch some wood and actually help in the camp, but it's up to you.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

There is a time for work, and a time for songs! Are you implying that I don't do my share of work?

Tomoe Dialogue Tag

...

  • He's useful

Tomoe Dialogue Tag

My apologies Cissé, I didn't want to be rude. Of course you are useful to this community.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

AHA! Maybe you'll start writing sons about me, then? Or some poetry? AHAHA!

Tomoe Dialogue Tag

... I fear that I don't have any talent in those particular domains.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

If you can walk, you can run! So if you can talk, you can sing! It's the same.

Tomoe Dialogue Tag

I'm amazed at how cheerful you can be, considering our situation. Maybe YOU are the strong one.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

The heart of the wise man lies quiet like limpid water, Lady Tomoe. But I like to see myself more like an overflowing stream of joy! Beware of the splashes! AHAHAH!

Cissé & Lady Tomoe: - Depression Depression
Cissé gains the positive trait Special Trait IconExcited for 4 days.

  • He's useless

Tomoe Dialogue Tag

You're too... soft. Your reluctance to fight is a real burden to this community. You should be glad that the strongs here protect you from harm. But in return, I think you should work twice as hard.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

... Do not forget what it is to be a sailor because you're a captain yourself, Lady Tomoe. Our bodies can die by the sword, yes. But our bodies can also die by the belly. And our spirits can die for no reason at all.

Tomoe Dialogue Tag

... Your "wisdom" is flawed. If I cut your head right now in a flash of a blade, I can still have plenty of time to find some food.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

... If you can live on your life without remorse after that, go for it. I couldn't. What if I have powerful friends that would track you until your last breath to avenge my death? Don't you think that would make your life harder? And if I lived, we could have split the work, and so you could take some time to rest.

Tomoe Dialogue Tag

I can take care of my own. You don't. That's the difference. If there were only people like me here...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

... we would all be eating in silence and slice each other's heads! AHAHAHAHA!

Making You Smile

This event can only trigger if the player has the Norse Side Stories DLC active AND both characters are part of the camp.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

How could I make you smile, Lady Tomoe? You're still a challenge, even for someone as gifted as me! Ahaha!

Tomoe Dialogue Tag

Why smile? It doesn't accomplish anything.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Like we say, the shortest distance between two people is a smile! Don't you feel this warm feeling in your stomach when you smile? It gives you strength! Smiling can cure diseases, it's wonderful!

Tomoe Dialogue Tag

I'm not sure about the last part, but... I just feel cold inside. Maybe I'm sick?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Let the healing powers of Cissé the Great cure you, then! AHAHA! What could be the best treatment for bringing back a smile on your face? Hmm...

  • A dirty joke

Cisse Dialogue Tag

You know what they say: He who goes to sleep with an itching anus wakes up with smelly fingers! AHAHA!

Tomoe Dialogue Tag

...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

No smile? Oh, another one, you'll like it: If the throat can grant passage to a knife, the anus should wonder how to expel it! AHAHAHAHAH!

Tomoe Dialogue Tag

If you do that, you'll die. Ludicrous.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Erm... Okay I failed...

  • A nice compliment

Cisse Dialogue Tag

As we say in my homeland, three things cause sorrow to flee: water, green trees, and a beautiful face. And I can assure you, Lady Tomoe, by looking at you my heart is entirely freed from sorrow! Ahah!

Tomoe Dialogue Tag

That's absurd. If we had plenty of water and green trees, we would all rejoice. I don't understand your point.

Tomoe Dialogue Tag

It's... no... You didn't... Erm... Okay I failed...

  • A funny song (Agility)
Failure
Cissé tries to perform a song but as soon as he strikes the chords, one breaks and hits his left eye!
Tomoe Dialogue Tag

...! Are you hurt?

Cisse Dialogue Tag

I'm alright... I'm alright... Aha! What a powerful song!!! AHAHAHAHAHA!

Tomoe Dialogue Tag

Teehee... Silly.

Success
Cissé performs a funny, upbeat song. He gives it all, he starts dancing around Lady Tomoe and making strange noises. Lady Tomoe was embarassed by the mad music man... Even more when all the camp came looking what that ruckus was about. Everyone had a great night... but Lady Tomoe, who tried to stay apart from this crazyness.

Cissé & Yaghoub[ | ]

You and Moira

This event can only trigger if the player has the Norse Side Stories DLC active AND both characters are part of the camp.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

A little bird told me that you and Moira were pretty close, isn't it?

Yaghoub Dialogue Tag

Hmm? As close as one can be from a beautiful rose full of spines, yes! Ahaha!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Ahaha yes, she has a sharp tongue and long fans... I got bitten too!

Yaghoub Dialogue Tag

Ah, you spoke to her? I didn't know...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Yes... I just wanted to know, what are your intentions with her?

Yaghoub Dialogue Tag

Oh, I might marry her someday! If she doesn't kill me first! Ahahaha!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Ahahaha! Yes, yes... of course. Very bold of you, ahaha.

Yaghoub Dialogue Tag

Ahahahaha!

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Aha!

Yaghoub Dialogue Tag

Ah...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

Well then, good luck with that! You'll need aplenty! Aha. Ah.

Yaghoub Dialogue Tag

Aha. Thank you Cissé. Good luck to you too. Aha.

Cisse Dialogue Tag

...

Yaghoub Dialogue Tag

...

Cisse Dialogue Tag

So good night then!

Yaghoub Dialogue Tag

Yes! Good night, good night. Aha.
